Loblolly Cove and Point are reachable from shore, but there's no parking to speak of, and depending on where you go in, you're in for a long
surface swim. Diving from a boat is quite nice, however. This site makes a nice pairing with Sandy Bay Breakwater for a two tank boat dive, and usually results in a circumnavigation of the outer end of Cape Ann.
Depths range to 30 feet at the most. There are many boulders and channels in the rocks, hosting a wide array of wildlife. The scenery is
breathtaking. The ocean pout pictured above was seen on a sunny June afternoon. Also observed here were skeletal shrimp, the usual assortment of crab species, lobster, and striped bass.
Starting from the anchored boat a bit off the point.
