Lake Winnepesaukee

Located in central New Hampshire is Lake Winnepesaukee. This is a large lake with a great deal of history. There are several wrecks to dive, as well as interesting rock formations along the shoreline. Artifact hunting is reportedly good in several areas.

Shore Dives:

McKiney Park, Wolfboro: A public park with limited facilities and parking and easy access to the water.

Boat Dives:

Lady of the Lake: The Lady was an ferry that sank as it was being towed out to be scuttled. The plan was to sink her in the deepest part of the lake, but instead she sank in a busy shipping channel in 30 feet of water. It's an easy dive, and penetrating the wreck is simple even for those with no wreck diving experience.

Cruiser off Diamond Island: This site contains an old cabin cruiser in about 53 feet of water, and also pillars of stone or concrete left behind from a US Navy testing facility which operated here during the last century.
